A placebo RCT starts off the evidence for inhaled antibiotics being beneficial in preventing emergence of resistant airway organisms. In patients with signs (CPIS) of pulmonary infection, using nebulized antibiotics, in addition to systemic (mostly) antibiotics resulted in better organism sensitivity spectra.
